The Third report from Maison et Objet 2016

L1003400What really hit me at this year’s show is a move to over scaling objects and using natural, organic materials. A look which would lend itself to conservatories a space that is often abused and a dumping ground. http://www.sempre.be/  has created a wonderful collection that revive those transitional space between outside and into somewhere where you would want to be. They have used driftwood, rusty metals and even mud, but by oversizing the furnishings the look is not hippy at all.

Another master of overscaling was Marc Poldermans for www.aangenaamxl.com Again wonderful organic materials this time using brass as well as at last  introducing plants into his schemes. He also created a certain futuristic air with no historic references. Quite refreshing, very new and not seen outside of the interior design trade shows yet.

And finally for a dose of pure glamour http://cravtoriginal.com/ Rich and indulgent, check out their projects on their web site, they are beyond good taste and I like that.
